Low cost tech growing hospitality sales and reducing pressure on staff in Thailand

It is a fine art balancing staffing costs against delivering great customer service, but help is now at hand from simple technology that all starts with a QR code!

Hotels have many locations from front desk/lobby, to guest rooms, F&B, fitness and pool areas to meeting rooms – all with customers with money to spend! Hungrrr is a UK company that already services the Hilton and Holiday Inn in the UK and has over 2,000 other clients; and they have just brought their technology to Thailand.

Here is how it works.

Unique QR codes are located throughout the hotels, such as the tables in the lobby area, restaurant tables to sun loungers. Here a customer – without having to look for a member of staff or menu – can zap the QR with their mobile and be presented with a menu on screen.

Quick and easy to make an order

The customer can choose what they want and the order is automatically sent to a terminal to receive the order. Staff instantly are informed of the order and location. Speedy service, happy customers, more sales.

The hotel can choose to take payment in the usual manner when they serve the food or drink, or add it to the customers hotel bill.

It means the hotel never misses a new sales opportunity from not having staff available instantly. If a customer is laying on a sun-lounger, for example, it takes just a minute to scan the QR code and make an order. Customers are also starting to prefer contactless menu – which saves hotels on print costs too!

What are the other benefits?

The ordering solution is all built by Hungrrr for the hotel – or hotels as one app can work for a selection of hotels together also. It is built both for use on website – they will integrate into your own website or as freestanding – and app (on both Android and iOS). When the customer makes an order, afterwards they are asked if they want to down the app also.

The hotels can encourage app downloads also.

When a customer downloads the app it allows the hotel to send free geo-fenced push notifications to each user. They can also set up coupons for users to claim.

Geo-fence the location you wish to send an instant message – which could be just within your hotel for guests checked in!

There are many other features to the app that you can enable that include customer delivery outside of the hotel, to collections or to book a spa with you!

So how do you get started?
